Manchester United fans send emphatic transfer message to Solskjaer ahead of deadline day
Nearly nine tenths of Manchester United fans believe Ole Gunnar Solskjaer should prioritise a midfield addition ahead of Thursday’s transfer deadline.

The transfer window in England closes at 5pm on Thursday and the overwhelming majority of Reds fans believe the midfield is in need of strengthening ahead of Sunday’s Premier League opener against Chelsea at Old Trafford.
United fans were asked the following question in an MEN Twitter poll: ‘Providing Maguire’s transfer goes through, if United could sign one more player before the window closes, which position do you think they should strengthen in?’
Eighty-nine percent of the 6,301 responders to the poll voted in favour of United signing a midfielder, with eight per cent believing the attack needs strengthening.
Following Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s arrival from Crystal Palace and with Maguire also set to join, just three per cent of supporters think the defence is in further need of reinforcements.
United prioritised signing the Newcastle central midfielder Sean Longstaff earlier on in the window but there has been little development on that front since United learnt of his £50million valuation.
United were preparing a £20m bid at the beginning of July and had hoped he would have signed in time for the beginning of their pre-season tour of Australia and Southeast Asia.
United considered moving for Bruno Fernandes earlier in the summer but are no longer interested in signing the Sporting CP midfielder.
Youri Tielemans and Adrien Rabiot were also considered but both players joined alternative clubs.
