Ed Woodward pictured at Manchester United’s London office as Paulo Dybala talks continue
Manchester United executive vice chairman Ed Woodward has been spotted entering the club’s London offices, as the club continue in their efforts to sign Paulo Dybala from Juventus.
Sky Sports’ cameras spotted Woodward on his phone walking into United’s London base in the plush district of Mayfair. He gave reporters a cursory wave and a smile as his phone conversation continued.
United are also interested in signing Leicester City’s Harry Maguire, while Romelu Lukaku is likely to leave before Thursday’s transfer deadline
MEN Sport understands the club are confident of signing Maguire, although Dybala is yet to be convinced about a move to Old Trafford despite Juventus’ willingness to offload the Argentinian as they try to bring in Lukaku.
Woodward and United head of corporate development Matt Judge have been in charge of United’s transfer negotiations this summer.
And although a deal for Dybala isn’t understood to be close, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is hopeful the transfer team can bring in two further names before the August 8th deadline. As well as Dybala and Maguire, United are interested in signing a central midfielder with Newcastle’s Sean Longstaff on their radar.
In terms of Dybala, Juventus value the player at £80million and are willing to sanction a sale. A swap with Lukaku has been mooted as United value the Belgian at roughly the same price and Juventus are interested in signing a striker this summer.
Talks over both deals are continuing.
